T
his smoothie is quite thick and filling, I make mine in a Nutribullet simply because it’s quick and easy and is great go-to when you know your vegetable intake for the day or days is very low. What’s more, it is highly anti-inflammatory (see my most recent blog to gain a deeper understanding about inflammation and its effect <insert internal link >>
Method
Grab a small handful of baby spinach, cut up a green apple and a pear into medium size pieces (skin on after washing )
Carefully slice a thick piece of pineapple include the core (core contains ant-inflammatory bromelains)
Add a small knob of ginger (I try to add a little bit of chilli flakes (a pinch) for taste and reduce the “mowed grass taste “
HOT TIP you can add flaxseed oil (ensure it is of good quality from health food store that has been kept in the fridge – to prevent it going rancid)
Add an avocado and add some chia seeds (if you do drink quite quickly, as chia will swell and thicken)
Finally, fill with coconut water and for added taste and add half a frozen banana.
If you know your diet may suffer as your time will be very time poor you may add some protein powder.
Let me know how you go with trying this amazing smoothie. As always, I can be contacted at my clinic in Camden and I look forward to speaking with you soon.
